We had a great run at the FringeNYC

Thanks to everyone! We got some great reviews and the shows were technically sold out. We even had to turn people away at the last show. But, at least we have been invited to do the Encore Series!

Tickets and Park gigs

By the way everyone, tickets for the show at the FringeNYC are now on sale and can be purchased through the website www.fringenyc.org or by calling 212-279-4488.

Also, my wonderfully talented Stephanie Layton and I have started music rehearsals, which include playing out doors in the parks and subways of New York. Last Sunday we were in Washington Square. People loved the act - me dressed as Piaf and Steph on accordion, both of us in costume. This coming Sunday, we're going uptown, so keeps your eyes peeled and your ears perked!

Adam Blanshay is on board as assistant director

And we couldn't be more thrilled! I'm not sure quite how it happened (something to do with fecebook - as I recall I stole all his friends - they still like him better) but he is a little Angel come to add his creativity and energy to this little sparrow's nest called Piaf: Love Conquers All. Adam has a background in theatre as a performer but has also been credited for directing, assistant directing, performing and producing in shows Off-Broadway and in Montreal, Canada. I, as the director of this show for the past three years, am so excited to have his input and support. Yay!

We have a Stage Manager!! Introducing Ivonne Herrera!

Well, after much networking and posting it was through the generous referral of Roy Arias from Arias Studios (300 West 43rd - lots of great rental units available for rehearsals in midtown) that we have found Ivonne Herrera and she is awesome and it's going to be great! Tickets for the show, by the way, go on sale today! Friday July 20th!! There are only 74 seats in the theater so get them sooner than later! www.fringenyc.org for tickets or call 212-279-4488.

Monday we go into music rehearsals. Just me and Steph. She's taught herself the accordion, so you also might see us in the NYC subway or in the parks. Be generous with your donations....:) Look out for our podcast on BroadwayBullet.com coming out August 3rd. We're doing one next week with NYCTheatre.com too. Okay, that's enough for today...except...ya...Jake Langley (my unbelievably talented husband) will be playing guitar in the show!! I am so excited about that!

On June 15th 2007 I was asked to go to the CBC Radio studiosin New York to do an interview with Gian Gomeshi and discuss the new Piaf movie "La Vie En Rose". They have made a Podcast of it! Check it out. I'm not sure how long it's going to be on there. Cut and paste this URL into your address bar.

End of Casting day!

It is 7 weeks until the big day! We had a great day of casting today for the role of pianist/various roles. We've put the offer in, just waiting for the acceptance! I'm so excited about the movie being out. I've seen it two times! Even did a little interview on CBC about it and my upcoming show in New York at The Fringe. There is a vigorous re-interest in Piaf. All over You Tube there is video footage I have never seen and which is very difficult to find. Thank you to Sheila, last week, for lending me 24 CD's and two video cassettes for more Piaf research! I'm still waiting on some books from France.
